The church was founded in 1907 and operated out of a tent, and later Heron\'s Hall on Alcina Avenue. The church moved to its current location in 1909, and an older church was moved to the site. The old church building was built in 1907, and was located on the south side of St. Clair east of Vaughan Road. It was altered in 1908, and moved to the current site in 1909. A rectory was built in 1912. A new church building was completed in 1915, and a basement was added in 1927. The stained-glass windows were created/installed from 1940-1983. A private school called Wychwood School currently operates out of the church.
