The Eatonville Library branch first opened in 1964 by the Etobicoke Public Library Board and was designed by Elken & Becksted Architects.
The library closed for reconstruction by architect Stephen Teeple in 2000 and re-opened in 2001. The renovated building features a curving zinc band on the exterior. In the interior, the entrance splits the building into a community room and the public library service area. Inside, 'crumpled' ceilings stretch from the exterior walls and reveal the building's structure.
The reconstruction of the Eatonville Library in 2000-2001 won an Honourable Mention from the Ontario Association of Architects in the Architectural Excellence Awards of 2002, and an Award of Excellence in the Toronto Architectural and Urban Design Awards in 2003.
It underwent brief renovations in 2013 and 2014.
