This Art Deco house was built for Group of Seven painter Lawren Harris. Harris originally hired Douglas Kertland to design the house, but later chose Russian-born Alexandra Biriukova, one of the few reigstered women architects in Ontario at the time.
The white stucco house was situated diagonally on its lot, with two wings on either side of a central block. The house's entrance is topped with a tall, elongated arched window.
The house underwent renovations and additions in 2011 by Drew Mandel Architects.
