Connaught Gates
X Claxton Boulevard
Toronto
Humewood-Cedarvale
Year Completed:
1913
OTHER IDENTIFICATION
Alternate Name:
Claxton Gates
Notes:

The Connaught Gates were constructed by Sir Henry Pellat as the first stage of his exclusive planned gated community, Cedar Vale. When they were built in 1913, the gates led to only a dirt road and a farm- they were built to entice potentia buyers for the neighbourhood. However, Pellat's community never came to be and all that remained of the gated community was the gates.

The Gates were restored in the early 2000s and listed as a Heritage Property by City Council in 2005.
