This is a cast of an original statue by Sir George Frampton. Frampton was comissioned by Peter Pan playwright J.M. Barrie to create a statue for Kensington Gardens in London, England.
Seven casts of the original sculpture were made. Members of Toronto’s College Heights Association purchased one of the casts. It was unveiled on September 14, 1929 at the northwest corner of St. Clair Avenue West and Avenue Road (now Glenn Gould Park).
