The Suffolk-born architect William Thomas designed this Tudor-Gothic Revival house for himself in 1848. Today part of Ryerson University, the building has over the years been host to the Working Boys Home for struggling male youth as well as various institutional halls before reassuming the name Thomas originally gave it: Oakham House.
