Notes:
7 Bulwer Street is a non-contributing, designated building within the Queen Street West HCD.
7 Bulwer Street (formerly Maple Lane) was constructed in c. 1874/1875. It was originally a planing mill (sawmill) and remained in this usage until the turn of the 20th century. Mill operators included L. Richey and J. Kennedy & Company.
In the early 1900s, it underwent some modifications (including expansion of the brick façade) and became the Albert Welch & Sons factory which manufactured stoves. Later, the building served as a laundry facility and then a warehouse for various businesses. It is now Soluna — a coastal inspired bar and restaurant.
The exterior of the building is heavily vandalized and partially overclad with siding that is obscuring the underlying industrial building. Regardless, this is one of the oldest surviving industrial buildings in the HCD.
