Built in the Italianate style, 250 Annette Street was one of the first few buildings to be constructed in the area after the subdivision of lots that previously comprised the Carlton Race Course followed by the construction of four CPR railways. The basket weave brick pattern on the building's front gable is a striking feature that's relatively rare amoung the city's residential Victorians.
