One of the few examples of its type in the Roncesvalles area, Parkview Mansions is a relatively early example of the prewar walk-up apartment building. Although it was originally designed to be the headquarters of the York Savings & Loan Company, it was converted into residential units within a few years of completion. At five storeys, it towers above much of the dense but generally low-lying neighbourhood avenue. This large corner complex was designed by William Limbery Symons in 1908 in the Edwardian Classical style.
