68 Bellevue Avenue was constructed in 1873. It was one of the first houses constructed on Bellevue Avenue, which was still essentially undeveloped as of 1870/1871. 

 

68 Bellevue Avenue was first home to the Reford Family, which included Joseph Reford (born c. 1829); Elizabeth Reford (born c. 1831); and Elizabeth Reford (born c. 1861).

68 Bellevue Avenue was originally known as 50 Bellevue Avenue.
