Notes:

Calvary Church (originally called St. John's Evangelical Church) met in various locations before realizing that they needed a building of their own. Early in 1929, a suitable site was found at 746 Pape Avenue. Plans were immediately drawn up for a "basement church" building to seat 600 people. The opening services were held on Sunday, February 2nd, 1930.

A new elevator was installed in 2016. Plans for renovation of the basement of the church, including the children's wing, commenced in 2015 and construction started in 2016, continuing to this present day. We have constructed new washrooms and meeting rooms in this area with waterproofing and are continuing to work on renovating the rest of the basement and the remaining children's classrooms. The auditorium portion of the new building was added in 1951. A new Christian Education Building, containing a gymnasium and Sunday School classroom space was erected in 1962. There were renovations to the Sunday School area in 1971 and the auditorium in 1978 to upgrade the building.
