In spite of designation under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, is threatened with demolition to make way for a high rise student housing project.
This building is a remarkably well preserved example of the ´main street" typology that lines Toronto streets. It retains its cornice, original shopfront, and you can see through the paint that it also retains its original tuck pointing and masonry staining. It was identified in the Harbord Village II HCD study and plan as worthy of Part IV designation as context for the adjacent residential HCD.
