Notes:

1203 Bathurst Street appears to have been constructed circa. 1889. Its first occupant appears to have been William R. Mumford - of Mumford Brothers. Mumford Brothers was a butchers' shop based at 142 Agnes Street in St. John's Ward. Mumford Brothers was run by William R. Mumford and J. Henry Mumford. Prior to living on Bathurst Street, William R. Mumford boarded at 1 Baldwin Street. 

 

1203 Bathurst Street is a 1.5 storey Second Empire Workers' Cottage. It was originally constructed as a detached dwelling. 

 

1203 Bathurst Street is one of only three surviving 19th century properties on Bathurst Street between Davenport Road and Dupont Street. The other two 19th century properties are: The Tollkeepers Cottage (c. 1835) at the northwest corner of Bathurst Street and Davenport Road, which was moved to its current location in 1996; and 1201 Bathurst Street, which was originally constructed as a house in 1890, but has been modified with a 20th century storefront addition.
