This north Toronto landmark, iconic to frequenters of Pearson International Airport and the intersection of Highways 401 and 427, was constructed between 1959 and 1960 by Carling O'Keefe Brewing. It was taken over by Molson in 1989 after the closure of the company's 1955 Fleet Street Brewery on Lakeshore Boulevard West.

Molson Brewing was founded in 1786 in Montreal by the English entrepreneur John Molson, making it the oldest brewery in North America.
