38-40 Robert Street is a 2-storey Gothic Revival house located on the west side of Robert Street approximately 130 meters north of College Street in the Harbord Village neighbourhood of Toronto. 38-40 Robert Street was constructed in 1887/1888. 

38-40 Robert Street is a heritage designated property and considered a contributing property within the Harbord Village Phase II Heritage Conservation District. 

As of 1887/1888, the occupants of 38-40 Robert Street were: 


38 Robert Street: John Jago. John Jago was a travelling representative and salesman of A. R. Clarke & Company — manufacturers of gloves and leather products. 

40 Robert Street: Henry S. Hergert and family. Henry S. Hergert was a clerk at M. L. Samuel, Benjamin, & Company — a hardware and metals firm.
