Information:

A new complex is being planned on a nearby site on the West Mall, with architects Henning Larsen and Adamson Associates. This current Etobicoke Civic Centre site will be redundant, as will the adjacent Toronto District School Board property once all civic operations are consolidated at the new complex. Reading between the lines of a recent report adopted by CreateTO suggests they are  working towards consolidating lands for redevelopment. \"exchange the use of unplanned office space in the new Etobicoke Civic Centre to the Toronto District School Board in return for the Toronto District School Board lands adjacent to the existing Etobicoke Civic Centre;\" and \"maximize density opportunities within the appropriate City Planning context on City-owned property at Bloor/Islington, Westwood Theatre Lands, and current Etobicoke Civic Centre.\"
